 Up to March 5, 2025, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has not made any formal announcement regarding the hike in the minimum pension of private sector workers under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS). Although there have been proposals and discussions on increasing the minimum pension from ₹1,000 to ₹7,500, no decision has been taken. Earlier, the Ministry of Finance rejected a suggestion to raise the minimum pension to ₹2,000 from ₹1,000 citing fiscal limitations.  Hence, the timeline for any possible rise in pension is indefinite.

 Starting in March 2025, Bajaj Finance will be offering some of the highest fixed deposit (FD) interest rates in India, giving regular investors 8.60% per annum while senior citizens will get 8.85%. This is contingent upon the length of the deposit and the amount. ICICI Bank's FD interest rates stand at 7.25% per annum for regular citizens and 7.80% per annum for senior citizens.  For State Bank of India (SBI), the FD interest rates range between 3.00% to 6.50% for general citizens while senior citizens will earn between 4.00% to 7.50%.  HDFC Bank also provides competitive FD interest rates but with special ones for specific tenures, such as higher returns for 35 months and 55 months.
